Boston Men's Shed - Model Making

Is there anyone out there interested in Model Making? Our facilities at Fenside Centre currently consist of a converted garage which houses our "Clubroom" (complete with "brew-up & Bikkies" and a workshop area and the garden area to the rear. The Shed is currently dominated on Tuesdays and Thursdays by our Workshop and Gardening Sections, leaving Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays free for other groups to use for i.e, Model Making, Art and Craft Projects or just socialising etc. At present there is no charge for this facility but we do expect users to keep the place tidy and secure. What do we do? People attend for a variety of reasons, but what we are finding common is that people like to:
• “Chew the fat”: chat about things that are happening or effecting our lives currently.
• Reminisce: about our jobs, growing up in Boston, “when I was young…”
• Games: Dominoes, Cribbage or even a quiz
• Eat: we like a hot meal of an evening, so come along and dine with us

What Could we do? The options are pretty much unlimited. If you would like take part in a particular activity, then voice it and see who else is interested. Here are some of the suggestions so far:
• Repairing and maintaining things
• Upcycling and making things
• Sporting activities for the over 50’s
• Creating a Community Garden
• Woodworking
• Handicrafts such as art, stained glass etc
• Sharing and learning new skills
• Cooking

Hey folks I have just deleted a scam post that was offering 200 quid Aldi vouchers. Please be advised this is a well known scam, I hope nobody fell for it. Always remember the old adage that if something is too good to be true, it's probably not true. The post has been deleted, it's author removed and banned from rejoining but that's not to say they won't be back with another id, if anybody sees another post please report to admin as soon as possible.
